DRE COLOMBIAN RAW & RAS BEATS - CRUDO

”Crudo” meaning raw in colombian slang sums up how we look at the music we made.

Unfilted, not watered down or changed to fit into any mold. Raw unpolished hip hop music. Beats, lyrics & scratches.

It’s all Dre & me except one song “Dos” where we’re joined by the ill rhymer Maddog McGraw who sets off the song for us with a crazy verse. Memorable quotable lines galore.

Track listing: Gold Records, Colombian Raw, Got Your Mind Working, This, Exercise My Demons, Dos (feat. Maddog McGraw), Pay Homage

ELOH KUSH & RAS BEATS - THE LAW OF LEAST EFFORT

Collaboration project with Eloh Kush. The title gives you a good idea what Eloh is about and why I always enjoy the work we do together.

He’s always saying something with meaning in his rhymes and isn’t afraid to challenge the listener. We started with 1 song and both wanted to make more after that and it turned into this project. The title and meaning of the project came from Eloh, speaks to the creativity of making music or any art. It refers to not forcing anything creatively but letting things flow. Not getting in your own way with overthinking and overworking an idea if you already completed the process and achieved what you wanted to.

We have Scienz of Life, Glorious, Lord Sun & Jahbaton on the project.

RAS BEATS - THE HIGH 5

For this project I wanted to work with MC’s I hadn't worked with previously, I ended up connecting with John Jigg$, Vic Spencer, Sully Nomad, Supreme Cerebral & Ralphiie Reese on this 5-song project, “The High 5”. Each song was released individually, 1 song per month for 5 months and then released as this EP. We had connections with Cali, Chicago, Philly and L.I. on this. It can work really well to collaborate with artists from different places to find all the commons and the difference we have, good things & good music come from that in my experience.

This was my follow-up to “Control Your Own”, I wanted to continue in the same vein and at the same time, try something new, with new collaboration partners. Being from mostly different parts of the US I think it gave the project a depth and interesting collaborations that the distance and different regional flavors provided.

RAS BEATS - CONTROL YOUR OWN

My first fully produced album project. I wanted to connect with a mixture of new artists I was listening to a lot at the time and legendary artists that were on my bucket list of people I wanted to work with. In order of appearance I got Roc Marciano, Blacastan, Rasheed Chappell, JBiz, Masta Ace, Ufo Fev, O.C., Elzhi, Kool Sphere, Sadat X, Sureshot La Rock, Sub Con, Breeze Brewin, A.G. featured.

All in all there were 14 featured MCs on the album. It was a lot of shedules to line up, but musically and creatively it all lined up.

I still recall being on the E train to Manhattan when the title came to me, at the time I was about halfway thru the making of the album and the title helped me shape “Control Your Own” and gave me the direction of where I wanted to take it musically and conceptually.

It also contains probably the most meaningful song I have made, “God Bless”, dedicated to my father and JBiz and A.G.s fathers respectively.

The track after it, “Hero” perfectly sums up my relationship with my pops.
